Introduction
The Liberian Association Of Metro Atlanta (LAMA) known previously as the Liberian Community Association of Georgia, began in September of 1976 as a non-profit student organization., is dedicated in promoting understanding and respect among its people and all Liberians. Through projects and other programs, we are able to help our people locally and back in Liberia. We invite you to become a member of LAMA. Membership Fee is $10 Monthly


SECTION 1 :: MEMBERSHIP, DEFINITION AND AGE
Membership shall be opened to all Liberian citizens by virtue of birth, descendent, marriage and naturalization; however, active, registered membership shall be based on individual participation in the affairs of the association.
Only members in good standing - those who have paid their dues and attended at least 50% of general meetings will be eligible to vote in elections and matters of importance concerning the LAMA organization.
Age requirement shall be a minimum of 18 years


SECTION 2 :: DEFINITION
By Birth
Any person or persons born of Liberian parent or parents in the Republic of Liberia shall be eligible for membership. He or she shall have voting right and can hold any office
By Descendent
Any person or persons born of and/or adopted by Liberian parent or parents but born outside of the Republic of Liberia shall be eligible for membership. He or she shall have voting right and can hold any office.
By Marriage
Membership shall be extended to spouses of members. Any such person or persons qualifying for membership by marriage shall have voting right and can hold any office except the office of President and Chairman of the Board.
By Naturalization
any person or persons who became Liberian citizens as a result of naturalization shall be eligible for membership. He or she shll have voting right and hold any office except the office of President and Chairman of the Board.
Honorary Membership
The President of LAMA shall have the power, with the advice of the Executive Committee and concurrence of the Board, to bestow honorary membership upon non -Liberians who do not qualify for regular membership but are supportive of the Association's aims and objectives. In all such cases, however, honorary membership shall remain purely ceremonial, and privileges accruing to it shall exclude the right to vote or hold office in the Association.


SECTION 3 :: MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION
Any eligible individual wanting to become a member of the Liberian Association of Metropolitan Atlanta (LAMA) must register with the Organization within ninety (90) days upon his or her relocation to metropolitan Atlanta. Failure to do so shall preclude one from membership and all its rights and priviliges until such membership application has been completed.
